Chepang Hill Trek Roshan’s Friends eco-trek 5 days. When going on this interesting trek you can help the local population in two villages. We have especially targeted the uppermost village in Chepang Gaun (1,700 Meters).
The first day is travel by bus for 4 hours west. When we arrive, local porters from Chepang Gaun are there to help us.
We now travel another 4 hours up the mountain to Shangri-la village, where the people are of the Bhramin caste but live a very simple life.
The next day is trekking through rolling hills with lush vegetation, where rice fields with small houses in the beautiful traditional orange colours meet the eye.
The last two hours are the most difficult part of the trek as we follow the stream up the ravine to the pass. Now we can see down the Chepang Gaun valley and we follow the narrow path close to the mountain.
On arrival in the village we are served their traditional Dal Bhat.
The next morning we trek to the top of the hill (Sirai Chuli 2000 m) where we have a magnificent view of the Himalayan range from east to west: Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu 8000+, Annapurna 8000+ & Dhaulagiri 8000+.
After lunch we visit the local school started by Roshan’s Friends project in 1998.
