Chulu East Peak Climbing – 24 days Highlights

  • Peak Summit is at 6059m/19874ft – located at the north part of Annapurna
  • Explore the great ice lake – Tilicho Lake 4920m/16137ft
  • Cross a rarely crossed & adventurous Mesokanta La Pass 5120m/16793ft
  • Witness breathtaking views of Mt. Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Mt. Gangapurna, Mt. Manaslu and many other snow-covered peaks.

Chulu East Peak is part of the Manang Himal, which are quite rightly included in the larger Damodar Himal, the eastern limit of which runs south from Chako and Peak 6687 in a Chulu west peak lies in Manang Himalayan Area. North-to-south direction along the Hunlung Khola, Nar Khola and Phu Khola. To the south the Marsyangdi Khola and the Mesokanta La bound it. To the west its limit is the Kali Gandaki and to the north the Parchekya La (5,447m/17870ft).

There exists considerable confusion with regard to the name and location of the Chulu peaks and what summit actually constitutes Chulu West and Chulu East, since it is soon becomes apparent to anyone that has climbed in the range that several other summits close by, which are actually part of the Chulu massif, are not indicated on present maps of the area. For the sake of clarification, four summits can be included in the Chulu group, two of which are possible on the permit for Chulu West and two on the Chulu East permit. What is apparent is that the available trekking map is highly misleading.

The highest of these peaks, marked Chulu West (6419m/21,054ft) on the trekking maps, has a recorded altitude from at least two expeditions of nearer 6400m (20,997ft); this might more accurately be called Chulu Central. The NMA gives this an official altitude of 6,429m (21,060ft).

Many climbers are confused as to the exact location of these two peaks as the range has 4 or more summits in the immediate vicinity, which are unmarked in maps of this area. As a result many climbing parties have mistakenly climbed one of these peaks thinking it to be Chulu East or West. It usually understood that with the permit to climb the East or West peak an attempt could be made to the nearby peak as well.

A climb of one or both of these peaks combined with Nepal’s most famous Arround the Annapurna trek make up for one of the most spectacular Himalayan trekking and climbing outings. Allow about 25 to 30 days to complete this climb and trek.

    Pokhara is pure natural city

I really like Pokhara city in whole trip of Nepal Package Tour, I joined with group for Nepal round trip, I looked around the internet to find group and joining, finally found Adventure Land Nepal Tour and Travel to provide group joining or fixed departure tour.

I liked Pokhara very much, great Himalayan view from room, big lakes along with Pokhara city, close to hiking hills, greenery surrounding the city, fresh air and attractive spots.

It was 9 people group, other friend also from different cities and countries. I got new experience to share our feeling and experience to each other.

It was 12 days Nepal trip, took us different cities and wildlife safari in Chitwan, explored culture, tradition, world heritage sites, buddhist monastery, Stupa, Temple etc which were unique and pilgrimage places to visit.

Our tour guide Prashant has explained in detail everywhere, which makes very interesting and enjoyable because we learnt a lot about Nepal. It was meaning full trip that different things different knowledge via Guide, he led us nicely and right way to get to places on time. we secured well enough time to use. This tour was really really meaning full and useful.

    Annapurna Sanctuary Trekking

We were 4 people planned to visit Nepal and all of us checked online price and facility of services, comparatively Adventure Land Nepal found average one, then decided to trek to Annapurna Base Camp, after complete the trekking, we would be happy with our decision. Thought that we got right person, right place and right decision, because our trekking organizer was experienced more than 20 years in tourism field. After arriving Nepal and hearing his briefing, it encouraged us to do as soon as possible do this trek.

He provided us nice package, Guide was strong and honest, he always gave an idea, what to do, how and where, these all moments were very valuable for us as we were beginners of trekking. Any way we had a lot enjoy even it was hard to walk in the hill sides. Up and down on the trails, it is really hard, but Mountain view and Nepalese lifestyle, their behave gave us plus point to forget that hardness.

We thanks to Mr Chij, manager of Adventure Land Nepal and Guide mr. Khadka. See you again in next trip.
