Jambay Lakhang Festival Tour Detail Itinerary
Receive by Bhutan Travellers Representatives. Check in at Gangtey Palace Hotel. After an early tea visit: Kichu Lhakhang (temple) and Drongja Goemba (monastery). Overnight: Hotel
Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery and hike back (3 hours round trip). Lunch at the Taktsang Cafeteria. Drive to Drukgyal Dzong (historic fortress in ruins now). Visit the National Museum. Visit a Bhutanese village house for a cup of yak butter tea/local wine. Evening: stroll through Paro town. Overnight: Gangtey Palace Hotel.
(145 km. About 5 hours drive). After an early breakfast drive to Punakha. En route visit Simtokha Dzong and halt at Dochula Pass (10,000ft. for a cup of tea/coffee and enjoy a spectacular view of the Himalayan mountains. Overnight: Dragon's Nest Resort.

The festival is held in the courtyard of the historic Jakar Dzong, built in 1646 A.D. by Minjur Tempa, the third Druk Desi (Temporal Ruler). In 1683 A.D. It was extended by Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye, the fourth Desi.
Morning: See the last day of Jambay Lhakhang festival. Afternoon: Visit several ancient and sacred monasteries such as the Kencho Sum Lhakhang, Tamshing and Pema Samba Lhakhang which are considered important pilgrimage spots. Visit the Bumthang Swiss farm. Overnight Hotel.
